Amy Kay, LPC
About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. I received a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Public and Social Services, with a minor in Human Services, from Kennesaw State University.
I have been practicing Professional Counseling in a variety of settings since 2000. These settings include private practice, workshops for other professionals, parenting classes, public and private schools, juvenile corrections, juvenile psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse programs, mental health and developmentally delayed group homes, and a retirement home.
I offer telephone and video Christian counseling for ages 18 and up. I specialize in anxiety, difficult relationships, grief and loss, and trauma. I offer Solution-Focused Brief Counseling, as I believe counseling is not meant to last forever; but to equip you with the necessary tools to go out and live life.
I intentionally keep a small caseload so you have my full attention. You should find your entire experience private and quiet. I tend to look at things rationally, and believe in living life passionately. I also believe in finding contentment, regardless the circumstances. Every client is met with unconditional positive regard.
I enjoy hiking, reading, parrots, playing badminton, and playing the cello and piano.
Certified in Telehealth in Georgia (2016) and Florida (2022).
Critical Incident Response for Employee Assistance Programs (2016)
Disaster Mental Health for The American Red Cross (2015).
Dating, Premarital, and Marriage Counseling from Prepare/Enrich (2012).
Small Group Leadership (2022).
Stress and Trauma Care from Light University (2016).
